Created by perfumer Gilles Romey in 1998, Rocabar takes its name from a combination of the English word “rug” and the French expression “à barres”, meaning striped. The name references the traditional saffron coloured horse blankets with red and blue stripes produced in the Hermès workshops.
Hermès describes Rocabar as woody and amber in character, bringing together the warmth of cedar with the lively aromatic quality of cypress and the rich, enveloping character of balsamic benzoin. The overall olfactory impression is spicy, dry, warm and woody.
